In the midst of an increasingly strong modernization trend, the preservation of parenting values based on local culture is crucial, especially in the environment of indigenous communities such as Naga Village, West Java. This research aims to explore effective forms of communication in parenting practices based on the traditions and local values of the Naga Village community. The approach used is qualitative with an ethnographic method, where data is obtained through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation of indigenous leaders, parents, and early childhood educators. The collected data were analyzed thematically to trace the communication patterns, social structures, and cultural foundations that shape parenting practices. The results of the study revealed that parenting communication was carried out subtly, using polite Sundanese language, and utilizing narrative as a medium of value delivery, which was strengthened by community support in preserving cultural ethics. These findings enrich perspectives in the study of family communication and character education based on local wisdom. The conclusions of this study show that parenting in Naga Village represents a communication model that is not only effective, but also in harmony with the local socio-cultural context. This research encourages further study of similar parenting practices in other indigenous communities as a contribution to the development of cultural-based parenting models in the global era.
